The Chloe Waldrop Taylor Renewal Center provides a welcoming environment for Safe Harbor's Community Center.
Safe Harbor’s Community Center focuses on providing an array of services that support the needs of women who are experiencing or on the verge of homelessness. We have caring staff available to connect women to resources for housing, employment, and recovery while providing a safe, supportive and loving environment to help women achieve their goals.
We are located at: 112 2nd Avenue SE, Hickory, NC 28602 (Our entrance is in the back of the building on the lower level)
We are Open: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm
Thursday 8:00am – 2:30pm
* New Guest Intake 9:00am – 2:00pm (First time guests are considered new guests)
** Donation Intake 8:00am – 4:00pm
*WE DO NOT HAVE A VOUCHER PROGRAM.*
Although we are not an emergency shelter, we do offer a variety of resources through our services navigators.

Safe Harbor’s Community Center offers our services to women regardless of race, color, nationality, ethnic origin, or religious affiliation.

The Passage
Objective: The Passage, an extension of Safe Harbor’s Community Center, exists to provide temporary shelter and assistance to women who have been unable to secure housing or assisted living without ongoing supportive services.
The Passage is not an emergency shelter, but a program that provides:
- A safe, stable environment that offers a short-term, temporary shelter 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- An opportunity to access programming and services needed to: Meet basic needs, achieve stability in mental and physical health, promote self-sufficiency, and facilitate movement to independent living.
*Attendance at Safe Harbor’s Community Center is a prerequisite for admision.*
